Memory is not quite what it used to be.
Amazingly, I heard from Kate (Andrews) Kelly, living in Athens, Georgia, with husband Cole and sons Cole (4), Jack (2) and Luke (6 months). Kate and Cole took a job hiatus to build a Web site for couples to help remember dates, have a running gift wish list and even warehouse sizes and favorite things from sleeve lengths to spa treatments! The site sends random reminders with ideas of little things to do. Check it out www.getinherhead.com.
Tessa (Erickson) Sugahara has been appointed to be attorney-in-charge for the labor and employment department of the Oregon Department of Justice, reported husband Kenji Sugahara '95. Tessa is apparently the youngest AIC. Like the state motto: "She flies with her own wings." Congratulations!
I heard from Maribel (Sanchez) Sandoski and husband Aaron Sandoski that the family is making their home these days outside of Boston. Aaron runs a venture capital firm focused on early stage medical devices and Maribel splits her time between being a mom and running her own graphic design shop. Miles is 2 and they are also expecting their second child, due at the time of this publication.
Melinda (Holl) Young is in Needham, Massachusetts. She is at home with kids Isabelle (5) and James (2), two cats and a dog. They live near a number of' 94 Sigma Nu brothers of husband Tyler Young '94, including Ben Hamar '94 and Bret Wilkerson '94. Every chance they can they get together to impress their neighbors with their pong skills. Tyler continues to work as the VP of finance for Trip Advisor.
Fellow River UGA David Hemmer reminisced about memories in the Cluster, part of which is no more. David writes that he is now an associate professor of mathematics at SUNY Buffalo. He and his wife have lovely daughter Meghan (3) and another baby on the way, due at the time of this publishing. Currently, he is wrapping up a semester sabbatical at Berkeley.
Speaking of the River Cluster, fellow UGA groupie (second floor McLane) Anne Wade Peterson is living in Burlington, Vermont, with her husband, Rob. She says that she is thoroughly enjoying "tractor season" in Vermont as seen through the eyes of her 2-year-old son Miles. Great name, Anne!
Across the pond Michael Lu is with a U.S.based private equity firm in London. An expat for nearly seven years now, he has lived in Paris, London, and Hong Kong during the period. While he does miss the States, particularly given the strength of the U.S. dollar these days, he veiy much enjoys living abroad and may be a "permanent" expat for some time to come.
