More than 50 years before the Winter X Games debuted, Amos "Bud" Little '39, DMS'40, performed airborne maneuvers such as this "all the time," he recalls. This photograph, taken in Quebec City in 1938, appeared in publications around the world. After completing his medical degree at Johns Hopkins and serving as a parachuting rescue doctor in the U.S. Army Air Corps, Little went on to lofty positions with the U.S. Ski Association and the U.S. Olympic ski committee while practicing medicine in Helena, Montana, where he still resides. He was inducted into the Ski Hall of Fame in 1965.
