The spring and early summer months have been full of club activities from around the globe. From New Jersey to Moscow, there were Dartmouth alumni gathering together for a variety of events. The Farmstead Golf Club in Lafayette, New Jersey, was the venue of the annual golf outing for the Dartmouth Club of Suburban New Jersey. Tom Swartz Jr. '49 organized the event, which attracted 22 participants and served as a fundraiser for the clubs scholarship fund. The Dartmouth Club of the Gulf Coast was honored to welcome the Dartmouth baseball team to Louisiana State University's Alex Box Stadium this spring. Student-athletes, their parents and Coach Whalen enjoyed traditional Louisiana fare with local alumni. Club president Ken Klemm '86 commented that the event was a huge success and he hopes the team will make a return trip next year. Club president Jon Low '73 reported that the Dartmouth Club of the Palm Beaches held a reception for the women's golf team when the student-athletes traveled south during spring break. Several alumni in this club also had the pleasure of seeing Pilobolus this spring at their sold-out shows. Over on the West Coast, the Dartmouth Club of Los Angeles held its annual meeting at the beautiful Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica this spring. Dartmouth football coach Buddy Teevens '79 was the guest speaker and former football student-athlete Bob Page '88 was the moderator. This clubs newly elected officers include president David Eichman '82, vice president Brittany Henry '07, treasurer Susan Ross Marki '82 and secretary Helena Rosenthal '08. The Dartmouth Club of Sarasota maintains a full schedule with great support from local alumni volunteers. Club president Garvey Clarke '57 is fortunate to have eager alumni in vital roles that keep the events interesting and activities successful. This club hosts a monthly luncheon at the Marina Jack Restaurant, which overlooks Sarasota Bay, Florida, with a local guest speaker arranged by Bruce Crawford '49 and Roger Stephenson '60. Dave Bustard '68 coordinates the alumni interviews for this club and consistently works to makes sure each and every applicant gets the opportunity to interview. Another key activity for this club is the book award program, which is run by Dr. Jen Mayer '85, DMS'89. Bill Wellstead '63 extends an invitation to the clubs monthly luncheons to all alumni. So if you are in the Sarasota area on the third Friday of the month, between October and May, make sure to connect with this club so you can enjoy great food while sharing Dartmouth stories. The Dartmouth Club of Southwest Florida is celebrating its 40th anniversary in fiscal year 2013. Club president Joe Batchelder '60, who has held his role for 17 years, consistently gets exciting guest speakers including the College president, the dean of Tuck, coaches (Teevens, Gaudet and Hudack), professors and trustees. Batchelder emphasized the importance of the scholarship fund and is leading the 230 alumni in the Naples, Florida, area to a goal of $150,000 for the fund, which will help support three local students. Cheers to this club and Batchelder for consistent activity and commitment to Dartmouth. The Dartmouth Alumni Club of Moscow has been active since 1994 and currently has 32 members. Club president Leonid Simon Vindman '91 noted that the club "promotes the College and works to attract outstanding students from Russia to the undergraduate and graduate programs" at Dartmouth.
