Hello, ’01s! I wish I could say that it was great seeing you all in Hanover for reunions in June, but it was not to be. The world has changed but classmate updates continue. Gene Long finished his fellowship in hematology and oncology last year and joined a medical practice back home in Augusta, Georgia. He also recently returned from atrip to Djibouti, where he visited Chris Hummel, who is there working for the U.S. State Department. Dave Castleman recently decamped from Los Angeles to New York to start a new j ob as a partner at the law firm Raines, Feldman, LLP.

We have a couple of classmates who dedicated some oftheir pandemic time to continue writing (and drawing). Jason Kelly’s book, Market Maoists, which explores the history of Mao’s China to the capitalist world, was recently published by Harvard University Press. Coming soonto abookstore near you: Minh Le reported that he recently signed a deal to “write the official authorized picture book biography of Thich Nhat Hanh, the worldrenowned Zen Buddhist monk and activist who was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.” Happy reading, everyone!
