It seems to be my good fortune to dateline this column from Hanover where Fred Pfau and I have been attending the annual Alumni Officers Meetings. One real advantage of the visit here is that I have been able to pick up quite a bit of news for this column. Consequently, we may be able to make up for that complete lack of column last month.

The crowd of ex-Vi2 men still on campus is rapidly thinning out but there are enough left here so that I've met a few familiar faces and have been able to talk over old times with a number of men. John Murphy has finally lived up to his nickname of "Dad", for last fall his wife delivered—the result being a fine Irish boy. Dad is at present a graduate student in the Department of Geology here. He intends to get his Master's in June and then move on for some more advanced work at Penn State. In the same department with Murph is Hank Woodard, who is also working for his Master's degree and holding down the position of Teaching Fellow. Some of you may have remembered from last September that Jack Halpin was appointed Instructor in the Great Issues course. We had the opportunity to talk with Jack yesterday and were surprised to learn that he is the proud possessor of a wife and two children. He has hopes of going on to law school this coming year. He also passed on the news that Knobby Cunliffe has gone into the regular Marine Corps.

Fred Pfau told us recently that Bob Porter has recently been fully ordained as an Episcopalian minister and is located at Woodsville, just north of here. Our congratulations to Bob. We were quite surprised to run into Chase Creedon in front of the Inn. Chase is about to finish his pre-architectural studies here at Dartmouth and move on to Europe for more advanced work. If things move along properly, he will probably end up at Lausanne, Switzerland. Another former Visser about to quit the Hanover Plain is Andy Anderson. We were lapping up a few ryes in the lounge of the Town House in White River when Andy and his wife strolled in for an evening's entertainment. Andy will complete his studies at Tuck this month and move out into the cold commercial world.

One of the few letters that we received during the past month came from Del Billings, who is living in his home town of Gardner, Mass. Del reports that he married the former Miss Betty Miller of Gardner last June 5, and that he is in business for himself retailing photographic equipment. For more good news, Del adds that Elmer Burke is married (and a father) and is residing in California. Also, Harry McClintock has met the same fate and is living in Upper Darby, Pa. The only other incoming newsletter came from Ralph Mond, who will be graduating this month from the NYU College of Medicine. Following graduation, Mond will be interning at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City for the coming year. One year behind Ralph are Art Perell and Charlie Schofield, both finishing their junior year in medicine. Ralph would like to hear from some of the Hitchcock Hall crowd. His current address is 696 Lefferts Ave., Brooklyn 3. While we're talking about medical schools and related subjects we might add our two cents worth. We recently checked over the student directory of Flowers Medical School in New York and found that HankReinhardt is finishing his senior year there. Bob Samilson is doing likewise to his junior year and Harold Cottle got the coveted M.D. from the same school last year. Hal is now interning at the Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn. Rumor has it that Bud Matthew, RalphBrackett and Bill (Red) Birchard will be interning here at Mary Hitchcock come July 1. Matthews is finishing this month at McGill while Ralph and Bill are taking the same step at Harvard. Brackett will also be taking those few additional steps to the altar this summer but we have yet to find out who the other party of the necessary duet will be. Dean Warren, the South's supreme gift to the Marine Corps, is reported to be at the Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore. Rumor also has it that Dean is married.

Most of the ex-Dartmouth Marines will be glad to know that Norm Pflomm is now a married man. The lucky lady was Miss Phyllis Noe and the event took place in Dayton, Ohio on April 9 of this year. Norm is now doing graduate work at Columbia while at the same time working for the Moore-McCormick lines in New York. According to the latest reports. Art Young is still working for the Grace Lines. His latest address was somewhere in Venezuela. Art is still single, much to our surprise. We expected some charming female to land "The' Pepsodent Kid" before this.

We had a long talk with Jim Lecce over in Crosby Hall this evening. Jim is just finishing his undergraduate studies in Zoology and plans to continue graduate work in the same direction. Under such a stimulus there was nothing else that we could do but give him the results of three year's hard experience in the same field. Lecce was milked for some news during the course of the conversation. DwightBurley seems to be doing quite well in Temple Medical School after getting his degree here last year. John Cameron got his degree in

Botany at Dartmouth last year and is teaching in one of the New England prep schools, though Lecce couldn't remember which one. Ralph Slighter is also getting his degree in Zoology this year. Ralph is another one of our many members who is married and a father.

That seems to be about the end of the news for this month. I'd like to see just as much news roll into me every month, so I hope that you'll drop me a line when you hear of something that is of interest.
