1995

As I write this column, we are days away from celebrating the dawn of a new year, so I asked our classmates what they look forward to in 2024. As a mom of two teenaged girls, I can say that I look forward to lots of special time on the sidelines of softball fields and volleyball courts this year, as well as special visits with friends and classmates who become more dear to me with each passing year.

Matt Riley looks forward to “three major milestones and celebrations coming up in my house in 2024. First, I’ll catch up and turn the big 5-0 in June. In August I am getting married to my most fantastic fiance, Matthew DiBattista, in beautiful Hood River, Oregon. In October my son will turn 21 and I will have successfully kept him alive to adulthood!”

For Michelle Seldin, “My eldest son is graduating from Princeton Day School in June and just got in early decision to Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, to study biophysics. His two moms couldn’t be any more proud!”

Allison Krasnow’s answer? “Graduating this spring with my doctorate in educational leadership and my husband opening his brewery in Oakland, California, which he has been working on for years.” If you’ll be in the Bay Area, check out Brix Factory Brewing and you might just run into Allison!

And our adoptive classmate and fellow 1995 graduate Craig Sakowitz ’93 joined the fun and shares that he is enjoying his time as president emeritus ofthe Dartmouth Outing Club of Northern California aside his beautiful wife, Sharon Karlsberg ’96. Their sons, Wyatt and Zachary, in middle school and high school, respectively, were instrumental in rebuilding the famous Bernal Heights Tiki bar in San Francisco this past summer. “You are all invited to stop by for a drink! We’ll show you the real San Francisco that is still as magical as ever.”

I hope as you read this that you are finding j oy and satisfaction in whatever 2024 is bringing your way. Keep your news coming!
