1998
Dear, ’98s!
The haze of summer has lifted, and the crisp air of fall has returned. The change in season is a time to reflect on where we were while looking ahead to where we are going. Be sure to make the time to check in with each other. Whether it is a long trek or a quick call in the in-between spaces, all connection is meaningful.
I was on social media recently and read Anil Doshi’s exciting up date. Anil wrote onsocialmedia “to happily let everyone know I am in line to be promoted to associate professor this October at University College London School of Management.” Anil is currently an assistant professor of strategy and entrepreneurship at the school, where his research focuses on digitization, platforms, and firm strategy as well as the individual and organizational implications of generative AI. Earlier this year Anil presented his research and views on generative AI at Westminster School, London’s TEDxWestminster School series. Anil, your Big Green family is proud of you!
Speaking of family, it is with a heavy heart that I share this somber news. A beloved son of Dartmouth, John Talbert “Johnny” Ladson, passed away earlier this year. In April Ben Hill shared this update. He wrote that he and Watt Boone ’00 were two of Johnny’s closest friends. An English major, Johnnywas amember ofPsiU, Sphinx Society, and the lightweight crew team. Like those in our ’98 family who have transitioned from this world, Johnny’s smile, laughter, and kindness are imprinted on the trodden paths across the Big Green, in the plaster of Dartmouth’s halls, and in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Johnny will never be forgotten. I will be working on Johnny’s obituary for DAM with Ben and Watt. Please share your memories of Johnny with us.
Stay in touch and share your updates.
One love.
