THE LITERARY MAGAZINE SUSPENDS PUBLICATION
November, 1912

At the last meeting of The LiteraryMagazine board it was decided to suspend publication indefinitely. The assigned reasons for the step were the lack of sufficient financial resources to meet the expenses of publication, and the deplorable lack of interest on the part of the undergraduates in supplying and consuming literary material.

The magazine was first started in 1886, being known as The DartmouthLiterary Magazine. Six years later, the name was changed to The DartmouthMagazine. In 1909 the name again reverted back to the original one of 1886.
