COLLEGE TAKES ACTION FOR STUDENT PROTECTION

The following notice, signed by President Nichols, has been posted in all the dormitories of the College: "Any person found in this building who is not a member or officer of the College, or not accompanied by a member or officer of the College, or who has not a permit authorized by the College, is a trespasser, and is liable to arrest. Peddlers, agents, and children under fifteen yeas of age are not allowed in this building under any circumstances."

The object of this ruling is self-evident. Not only does it forestall any opportunity for the entrance of petty marauders, but it also protects the students from the thousand and one needless annoyances that accompany the intrusion of agents and peddlers. Undergraduates who are dependent for their earnings upon canvassing in the dormitories are, of course, granted permits by the college authorities.
