From the looks of things, all of Dartmouth's varsity spring teams should benefit from the talent which will move up to varsity competition next spring. All of the Pea Green spring teams are on the winning side to date and two of them - baseball and golf - are currently undefeated.

Coach Eddie Jeremiah's freshman baseball squad has eight straight wins with only two contests remaining. The little Indians are a hard-hitting, smooth-fielding club with a strong pitching staff. The current line-up has Fran Hanlon at first base, Mike Bloom on second and either Mike Weber or Tom Good playing third with Walt Lillard at shortstop. Steve Dichter plays left field, Dick Harris center field and Ken Lapine right field. Dan Connelly handles the catching chores, and the top hurlers include Scott Creelman. a really promising rookie, Bill Dubocq, Bruce Campbell, Bill Caterino and Roger Kline. Harris and Lapine are the team's top hitters with Harris clipping the ball at a .500 average.

Also undefeated in three matches with three remaining are Coach Tom Keane's freshman golfers and the) should be a big help next year. John Lincoln plays number one for the '64s with. Garth Gregory, Dick Leukart, Jan Hoving, Ritchie Payne, John Robertson, Tom Rand and Ray Norton varying in rankings from week to week. This is" a strong team with good depth and they could well end up with an undefeated season.

Coach Karl Michael's freshman lacrosse team has a 3-3 record with one game remaining. The team has a stout midfield and strong attack line but defense and goal are weak and have cost the team some close games. The midfield quartet of Captain Mike Herriot, Hop Potter, Sandy Hight and Bob Bennett have been particularly effective and all are high scorers. Tom Sieminski and Whit Foster are highly regarded forwards on the team.

Dartmouth's undefeated winter track team has been beset with injuries this spring and currently has a 2-2 record with one dual meet plus the I.C.4.A. meet remaining. Season-long injuries to high jumper Ted Love and hurdler Steve Ward, plus assorted minor accidents, slowed the Pea Green team down in early season. The distance events have been strong with Captain Woody Flowers in the 440, Bob Newman in the mile, and Jeff Burnham and Jim Verdier in the 880. Dana Kelly is undefeated in the javelin throw, while Bob Cahners continues outstanding in the hammer and discus departments. Karl Winkler has also done well in the pole vault, and Eric Oxboel and Tom Yahn have placed consistently well in the dash events. Coach Ellie Noyes rates this team highly and again will have great help on his varsity squad come next spring.

Coach Red Hoehn has come up with a better-than-average freshman tennis team which has won two meets and lost one to date, with two matches remaining. Wally Lord is a highly regarded number one player and is followed in order by Doug Judah, Ned Miller, Bill Barnett, Hal Rabner and Kevin Ryan.
