Charles G. DuBois of Englewood, N. J., was elected January 27 a director of the Southern New England Telephone Company. Mr. DuBois entered the Western Electric Company in 1898 as a clerk, and was made secretary of the company and had charge of its accounting. In 1907 he was made comptroller of the American Telephone and Telegraph Company. He developed its accounting system, and co-operated with the Interstate Commerce Commission in the preparation of a system of accounts for telephone companies. He assisted in preparing a draft of the telephone employees' benefit plan, and is the father of the plan under which employees are enabled' to buy stock in telephone companies.
