Ned Dearborn called on the Secretary about the middle of October as he was on his way to Seattle to receive a consignment of foxes from Alaska, which he was to bring back to the Government Fur Farm in New York. Dearborn is assistant biologist in the Depart- ment of Agriculture in Washington, and for several years has been giving much attention to the study of the whole question of the rearing of fur-bearing animals.
