Paul Sample '20 turned a blank canvas into a New England landscape masterpiece before the crowd at the University Club on Hanover Holiday. The lucky winner of the painting was Arthur I. Appleton '36, whose name was drawn by Justin Stanley '33, Vice President of the College, from the bowl containing all the names of contributors to the Chicago Alumni Scholarship Fund.

Professor Lloyd accompanied his interesting lecture and slides with side comments that kept his geography "lesson" rolling at a merry clip. Red Rolfe '31, Dartmouth's new Director of Athletics, put the punch that alumni were looking for into his short talk at dinner.

It was unhappy news for all that President Dickey was unable to attend the meeting due to illness. He was there in spirit and word, however, through his telegram to Chicago alumni and Alumni Councilors. Justin Stanley did a fine job in substitution at short notice and Ken Henderson '16 did his usual capable job in reporting the Alumni Council meetings. The crowd of over 200 included Truman Metzel '23, Bill Donohue '45, FrankMayer '20, Dave Bortz '43, Sumner Sollitt '23 and a host of others that had a great time at one more successful Hanover Holiday, engineered by Tubber Weymouth of that great Class of '26.
