DARTMOUTH TO DEBATE SMITH
November 1921

A debate with Smith early in December is the feature of the Dartmouth debating schedule for this year. The Forensic Union has been trying for some time to arrange such a debate and at last the Smith faculty has consented to it. The contest will be a regular dual affair, one team debating at Northampton and another at Hanover. Other intercollegiate debates scheduled are Cornell, Columbia, and the annual triangular debate with Brown and Williams. The custom of a freshman-sophomore debate is also to be revived this fall.

In order to stimulate interest in debating the Forensic Union has instituted a system of debating classes for the inexperienced. It is hoped that in this way it may be possible to develop varsity material.
