Fletcher Hale recently attended the National Tax Convention at Minneapolis, and was royally entertained by Jim Vaughan and Henry Thrall.

Winfield S. Barney is now chairman of the Faculty of Language and Literature and also a member of the College Cabinet of the North Carolina College for Women.

Mr. and Mrs. James C. Donnelly announce the birth of James C. Donnelly, Jr., April 29, 1922.

John H. Dunlap has been elected secretary of the American Society of Civil Engineers. The position is that of executive officer of the society, the leading engineering organization of America, and carries a salary of about $8,000. The election, which requires a two-thirds vote of the executive board, was made after a vigorous contest between progressives and reactionaries, in which the progressives were successful. His new address is 33 West 39th St., New York.
