Clarence E. Carr has been appointed a member of the commission of five men named by Governor Brown of New Hampshire to confer with committees appointed by governors of other New England states to consider the railroad situation in New England. It is said of him that he "possesses in a very large measure the confidence and respect of his fellow citizens, and has always been a militant defender and protagonist of New Hampshire and its people." Mr. Carr received the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws from New Hampshire State College at the last commencement.
