Coincidental with what seems to be the beginning of a real system for the football team, comes the inauguration of a system of coaching which it is hoped will be equally beneficial for the soccer team. Mr. Thomas J. Dent, a soccer player of much experience in England and Scotland, has been secured as coach and has been drilling a small squad in the rudiments sponsoring a different and faster style of play than that previously taught.
Coach Dent does not feel that much can be expected of the team this year and the 3-0 defeat at the hands of Yale in New Haven on Saturday, October 18, did not come as a surprise. He feels that the team is developing well and at least by next year should be ready to give a good account of itself. It is likely that Coach Dent will inaugurate spring soccer practice—as he considers the present length of season inadequate to secure the team's proper development.
