A recent issue of the Pacific TelephoneMagazine features, under the title "A Pilgrimage of Good Will," E. K. Hall's trip to California. It says: "Inspiration—that is the one word that best fits the recent visit of Vice-President E. K. Hall to the territory served by the Pacific Company. We had heard much of Mr. Hall. Returning delegates to Eastern conferences had enthused over his ability to interest and hold audiences. We had read his magazine articles and his speeches with admiration, and we were prepared to meet a personality—and we did. For E. K. Hall creates thought—he is an inspiring influence. His whole attitude toward his job is so marked by sincerity that his hearers at once believe in the man and accepted his message." Mrs. Hall, Miss Dorothy, Dick, and E. K. Hall Jr., were in the party.
Dr. W. R. P. Emerson spent a week in Hanover this fall organizing to do away with physical unfitness in the College, beginning with, the freshman class of 672 men. An assistant is carrying on the work now. He particularly enjoyed meeting sons of Brown, Salinger, Shurtleff, and Ed Hall. Incidentally he gave a talk before the football squad (with the Mc- Gill managers as guests) on the prevention of staleness and on physical fitness in athletes. Dr. Emerson is doing work at Technology similar to that at Dartmouth, and is holding a nutrition institute at Portland, Me.
Dr. Edward N. Libby has become professor of medicine and director of the medical department at the Tufts Medical School.
Earl and Brown were two '92 men who have reported being at the Dartmouth-Yale game.
'92 was well represented at the Dartmouth- Harvard game. Brown, Blood, Earl, Emerson, Hayes, Holland, He, Potter, Salinger, Strong, and Weston the Secretary is sure of, and he may have missed some at that. From the looks of the players toward the close of the game it seemed as if Emerson might have to make another trip to Hanover.
The death of Richard Hall, Dartmouth '27, brought a very real sorrow to all '92 men. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Mr. and Mrs Hall. '
Jesse Barton of Newport, N. H., was triumphantly elected a member of the Governor's Council at the November election.
Cox is located for the winter at 220 West G St., Ontario, Cal. In his letter he says: "Every '92 man ought to read Sheldon's'Robert Hardy s Seven Days.' " As I haven't done so yet,. I can only pass on his advice.
Gunnison is still chairman of the New Hampshire Public Service Commission. His son, Arviri, who graduated from Dartmouth in '22, as the reunioners will remember, is now in Chicago, working for J. Spaulding's Sons. Our honorary classmate, ex-Governor Rolland Spaulding, is one of the sons.
'92 men who live around Boston and run an auto should make it a point to take the state road through South Sudbury some Saturday or Sunday and call on Charley and Mrs. Lamprey -at their week-end retreat. Stoneholm. I believe Libby said it was called.
