CLASS OF 1873
June 1924 Rev. Samuel W. Adriance

Some time ago the Boston Globe printed an interview with Nathaniel W. Ladd, suggested by the fact that Mr. Ladd has his home in the building at No. 56 Pemberton Square, Boston, in which is also his law office. He studied law in Pemberton Square after his graduation from Dartmouth, and has lived and worked in the Square ever since, having bought the building in 1885. Formerly a good many lawyers lived in that section, but he is the only one left. Although 75 years old, Mr. Ladd is still in the active practice of law. He is a good deal of an athlete, has gone on long trips in his sea-going canoe, still uses the bicycle by which he has several times gone from Boston to Hanover to attend class reunions, and thinks nothing of striking out on a five mile hike as an appetizer for breakfast. He has been a most loyal Dartmouth man, and never fails to show up at the annual alumni banquet in Boston, and at all class reunions since college days be has been present.
