Dartmouth's golf team played matches over the Westchester-Biltmore Country Club links, May 2, which opened the season of the Eastern Inter-collegiate Golf League. Playing with the Columbia team Dartmouth golfers emerged with a victory by a score of eight matches to one, the same score by which the Harvard team defeated Columbia.

At Springfield, Mass., May 3, playing over the Springfield Country Club course the Dartmouth golfers won another victory by a score of 7 to 2, from the Williams golf team, and, playing over the same course May 15, defeated Amherst by a score of 4 to 2.

Harvard broke the tie for leading position in the league by winning from Dartmouth May 16 in matches played on the Weston Country Club links. The matches were very closely contested throughout, one going to 20 holes, and the final S to 4 decision coming only with the victory of W. G. Soule '25, sixth man on the Harvard team, who won his match on the 17th green.

The Hanover team remained in the running for honors by virtue of victories gained over Princeton and Pennsylvania at the Westchester-Biltmore course May 16 and 17. Princeton golfers were defeated by Captain Sheehy's team by a score of 5 to 4 and Dartmouth won from Pennsylvania 7 to 2.

The Hanover golfers were unable to cope with the brand of play provided by the members of the Yale team in matches played at the Brooklawn Country Club, Bridgeport, Conn., May 17. After dividing the singles matches at three all the Dartmouth players were forced to accept defeat in all the four ball matches and to take the short end of a 6 to 3 score. Captain Sheehy, Henry and Batchelder, of Dartmouth were the only Hanover winners of the day though Taft did well in holding Dexter Cummings, Intercollegiate champion to a score of 2 and 1.
