F. A. Howland on a recent Western trip enjoyed a pleasant visit with Sidney Arthur at Covington, Ky.

Frank B. Sanborn, Emerson Rice, and Rev. Carl Corwin had a pleasant little reunion at Tampa, Fla., in February last.

Prof. F. P. Brackett of Pomona College will take a sabbatical year in 1924-5. Frank B. Sanborn of Sanborn Company has lately taken out a patent on a pulse wave machine- for study of heart beats. Mr. and Mrs. Sanborn sailed for Europe in July.

Rev. Samuel C. Bartlett at Tokyo, Japan, was far away from the recent earthquake, but was away from his duties at Doshisha University for two months, engaged in relief work at Kobe and later at Yokohama. At the latter place he had a narrow escape from one of the subsequent quakes.
