I am writing this column for the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine in the middle of July— still blissed out from our fine 35th Reunion five weeks ago. You should be reading this in mid-September; time to plan for the mini-reunion, which begins Friday, October 31, with Dartmouth Night. Thinking of the bonfire in July is a bit odd for me, but I can envision the Glee Club, band, and a few (short) speeches with keen anticipation. The Harvard game will be on Saturday, the first of November.

Paul Weinberg recently wrote via e-mail: "Thanks so much. Reading the September column was a mixed experience—I felt almost as if I had been at the reunion and I was sad that it had not been so.... I will look forward to seeing some photos on (Bill) Sadd's 1962 homepage. (Photos, Bill?) Hope you won't mind but I shared your September column about the Reunion with my old roommate Al Rapoport, who had to be in Europe on business at the time of the Reunion. Not recalling when the Tom Moorman information would be become fully public I redacted those references before I sent it on to Al. (I just love that word 'redacted.' Don't think I had ever heard of it before Watergate.)"

John "Doe" Ewing-Smith wrote a thoughtful letter after the Reunion. He mused, "I wonder what will be in store for the next class of '62? A hundred years from now seems much, much more distant than three times the time since we left Hanover. Some of this year's graduates will be around in 2061. Now there is a thought to ponder!"

Sandy Apgar was at the Reunion and left me a written reflection titled "Impressions of an (Injun) aire." It seems that 100 former Injunaires joined the then- current Aires in April. Sandy had a great time and wanted to write about it. It's a nice piece and would be a fine addition to the class homepage. Webmaster Sadd, please copy. In it Sandy reflects on PaulZeller: "Zeller was the colorful but controversial legend of Dartmouth singers. Director of the Glee Club for more "than 30 years, "Zip" defined both the technical excellence and sheer exuberance that still marks male singing at Dartmouth more than at any of the other Ivies."

It is great to hear from classmates! Thanks Paul, John, and Sandy. I love getting mail. Furthermore, as your new secretary guy I have decided that when the mail is scanty I shall make things up to say about '62s. If the mail gets very thin, the stories will become more and more outrageous. Don't forget about the mini-union beginning Friday, October 31!
