On October third the Dartmouth team met a nervy and well-coached team representing Hobart College, Geneva, N. Y. Following hard rains the field was soft and slippery and neither team was able to display its best form. The play of the Hanover team was distinctly disappointing, especially in showing an inability to cope with trick plays.
The men of the Hobart team showing nothing of the inferiority complex common to early season "set ups" were not afraid to run their own plays or to attempt vigorously to halt the Dartmouth attack. While the Dartmouth team was making 13 first downs Hobart made eight and at all times kept the Green team alert and watchful.
Forward passes again proved an important factor in the Dartmouth attack the Green team attempting 15 of them and completing a good percentage. Hobart threw 14 passes, a successful one for 30 yards being the longest.
Lane and Oberlander were again the Dartmouth scorers, the latter scoring three touchdowns.
