Springfield 4, Dartmouth 3
The Dartmouth soccer team lost the opening game of the season October 10 to the Springfield Y. M. C. A. College team, 4 to 3. Despite the snow, both teams exhibited good footwork, and Dartmouth, after being a goal down, led at the interval, 3 to 2. In the second half, however, Dartmouth, facing the wind, was unable to hold the heavier opponents. Springfield's last two goals came as the result of long shots which Captain Forrest was unable to reach because of the mud in front of the goal.
Collins, Zanger and Woodbridge scored the goals for Dartmouth.
