Twenty of the boys attended the annual alumni dinner in Boston on the evening of February 4. Roscoe DeWitt came all the way from Dallas, Texas, to visit the frozen north at this season. Roscoe tips the scales a little heavier than he used to.
Paul Perkins came down from Lowell. Some weeks ago he fell on the ice and badly tore the ligaments in one of his legs, so that up to a few days previous to the dinner he had been wearing a plastpr cast. He reports dull real estate business in his city, and is glad that his confinement in the house did not interfere with any serious amount of business.
Doc Saeger was in town for a day or two, called from New York by the sickness of his mother. We were sorry for the sickness part of it, but were glad that his visit here included the alumni dinner.
The other regulars included Lowell, Stickhey, Brown, Saltmarsh, Wilkinson, Fuller, Nichols, Batchelder, Austin, Gregg, Aborn, Fahey, Barnard, Pooler, Leach, Palmer, and Chandler.
Ed Leach and Clyf Chandler made themselves generally useful picking up tickets, etc., and as a reward got themselves elected secretary and director, respectively, of the Boston Alumni Association for the ensuing season.
Mart Remsen as class agent has issued a letter regarding the Alumni Fund. Individuals in various cities are helping Mart round up our quota, which has been raised several hundred dollars from last year. Don't delay consideration of this matter, for every member of the class is wanted on the subscription list. If you can send a lot of money do so, and if you can send a little shoot it along just the same; it is the spirit which counts.
Two of our foreigners have sent in cards. Lay Little, who is inspector general of customs in Peking, includes some Chinese characters, which we do not dare show our local laundryman for fear of consequences. We wish Lay was given to .writing, a little more details regarding his work in the Far East, which must be very interesting.
Walter LeCount has been transferred from Singapore to Manila, where he continues his connection with the International Banking Corporation. Other than the statement that he has a wife and one son he lets it go at that. The above remark regarding Lay Little and his lack of details also goes for Walter.
