Isaac J. Cox, professor of history at Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., by special arrangements with the University and through the co-operation of the Carnegie Institution of Washington, will make during the next year a special study of Chile, its recent development, and its promise of the immediate future. Dr. Cox, who has specialized in studies of South American countries and governments, and who recently made a long tour of the principal countries of that continent, lecturing at. the leading universities and meeting the best known of their savants, will begin his work on Chile next February, and devote the remainder of 1926 to it. He was in New York in June acting as reader for the College Entrance Examination Board, it being the sixth time he has thus servedhe gives this summer two courses in the summer school of Columbia University; and in October he will lecture at Stanford University on Latin-American history.
