SEVERAL FRATERNITY HOUSES UNDER CONSTRUCTION
August, 1925

Less building than usual is in progress in Hanover this summer but the carpenters and masons are not entirely idle. Distinctly unusual, however, is the fact that the construction of dwellings for individuals and for fraternities forms most of the work in hand.

On Balch street extension south of East Wheelock street on the old state farm, the College is erecting three double houses for the use of faculty members. On Webster avenue, work on the President's house is well under way, the Sigma Nu and Delta Tau Delta houses are being finished for occupancy in the fall and ground will soon be broken for the new Zeta Psi house on the corner of Webster avenue and Tuck Drive.

The Theta Delta Chi house distinguished itself as it drew its last breath by being almost the only house in the memory of the oldest inhabitant to be torn down rather than moved to a different location. Work has already been started on the new brick colonial house which will be ready for the use of the fraternity in the fall of 1926. The former Tri-Kap house will be occupied by Theta Delta Chi this year.

On Lebanon street, a new section known as Brockway Park is enjoying its first development and a little nearer town the precinct is leveling the grounds of the new grade school which will be occupied for the first time this fall. The precinct is also substantially increasing the mileage of concrete sidewalk in all parts of the town.
