As this is being written Jack Clow '52, our National Enrollment Chairman, is hosting the annual Christmas vacation enrollment luncheon. This is held at the University Club with undergrads and their dads helping entertain candidates for next year's freshman class. This gathering usually draws about fifty people and serves as a real "sales piece" in our enrollment work. In the meantime the whole enrollment committee is hard at work on the interviews for Eddie Chamberlain '36.
Dartmouth's participation in the October Ivy League (Harvard-Yale-Princeton-Dartmouth) Scholarship Ball Was tops this year. As a result we have added $850 to our local scholarship fund. We hope this type of party will continue to be ran, for we do have a good time while contributing to a worthy cause. Our president, Bob King '57, ably ran the Dartmouth end of this joint affair.
Our immediate program plans began with a special speaker for our luncheon on Wednesday, January 31. Professor DanielMarx Jr. '29 of the Economics Department was our guest. In these days of the negative income tax proposals, deficit financing for government (but not for individuals), inflation, and other new ideas in the field of economics, we need to have an academician explain the theories to us.
The date for our annual meeting has been set as March 18, a Monday evening. Dean Thaddeus Seymour is planning to be in the West and will be our featured speaker. Time and place are not yet settled, but should you be traveling out this way, plan to join us. Call 981-8191 for information as to the hour and place.
Luncheons continue to be popular with ten to twenty of us gathering every Wednesday at the Iron Horse on Maiden Lane.
