It will be of interest to alumni of the College to know that C. N. Moore 'O5 took a very active part in the development of the recently announced Coolidge Cathode-ray Research Laboratory, of the General Electric Company, Schenectady, N. Y.
Mr. Moore has been actively engaged since 1907 in scientific research not only working on problems under the direction of Dr. W. D. Coolidge but has individually worked out very important developments. Being awarded the Tucker Fellowship upon his graduation from Dartmouth, he entered the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he spent one year. From there he went to the G. E. Research Laboratory. After a few months of such training he went abroad and entered the University of Leipsic, Germany where he made a special study of Physical Chemistry.
In 1907 Mr. Moore returned to America and to the G. E. Research Laboratory. Until 1912 he worked by himself on problems dealing with sheath-wire and tungsten. Fourteen years ago he was made assistant to Dr. Coolidge and began work on the X-ray and other phases of the vacuum tube.
During this time Mr. Moore has found time from his business in the Laboratory to write and has published numerous interesting articles for various technical magazines.
