D. A. Paly Host The Christian Association acted as host to the Older Boys of New Hampshire on the Saturday of the Cornell game, the delegates to the state convention in Lebanon coming to visit the College for the day. The discussion groups are well underway with many students participating in the informal knots which meet occasionally with The Rev. R. B. Chamberlin, The Rev. A. W. Clark, the Rev. F. W. Knickrehm, R. E. Riegel, and R. B. Dwinell '25.
The D. C. A. is cooperating with Palaeopitus in the College Chest Drive which is underway with $10,000 as the goal. The D. C. A., Dartmouth-in-China and the Red Cross will be the chief beneficiaries and a short-time student loan fund will be established with some of the chest funds.
The D. C. A. has received applications from over 100 students who wish to work in the railroad mail service during the Christmas holidays.
Freshman Informals in College hall were in vogue again this fall and the class of 1930 participated in these short Wednesday Night gatherings in College hall with marked enthusiasm to hear upperclassmen and faculty members speak on various phases of College life. Cheers and songs featured each meeting.
A group of freshmen who have been prominent on preparatory school crews so lamented the fact that rowing is not recognized or stimulated as a sport at Dartmouth that they have petitioned the Athletic Council to consider the possibility of reestablishing crew work, if only as a recreational sport, in the College.
