In the Boston Transcript of December 12 is an illustrated article by Samuel L. Powers, giving biographical sketches of the thirty-three survivors of the more than 1100 lawyers who were in practice in Suffolk county at the time of his admission to the bar in Boston in 1875. Among them are the following Dartmouth men: George A. Bruce and George W. Estabrook, 1861; Edwin B. Hale, 1865; John Herbert, 1871; Lewis G. Farmer and George Fred Williams, 1872; Alfred S. Hall, 1873.
