One of the best hockey games played on the Memorial Field rink came to a close February 7 with Dartmouth leading Yale for the second time during the current season. The game was replete with thrills and featured by unusually fast play. Only the alertness of the Yale goal tender prevented the Green team from amassing a larger total of points for the Hanover players were constantly bombarding the Yale net.
For all of the play in Yale territory the contest was one much more closely fought than the score would indicate, Yale seizing a one point lead in the second period and holding it until very near the close of the game. Then a whirlwind Dartmouth attack netted the three goals that kept the Hanover slate clean from defeat. The Yale goal was scored on a pass from Captain Potts to Cutler.
Dartmouth's scoring was accomplished within the final six minutes of play when Captain Manser reentered the game to lead a furious assault on the Yale net. Everett carried the puck through the entire Yale team and passed to Manger for the first score. Five minutes later Lane, unaided, registered the second point, and in the last minute of play Manser duplicated his feat.
