In the new Madison Square Garden, New York City, Dartmouth for the second time this season displayed to Metropolitan fans a championship brand of hockey in defeating the strong Williams team by a score of four goals to one. Both teams had previously scored two victories over Yale and the contest was one which made possible a basis for definite ranking of eastern collegiate teams. A . crowd estimated to contain 15,000 people was on hand at the opening faceoff.

Williams registered the first counter of the game when Captain Watkins, of the Purple team, waded through the Hanover outfit to score unassisted. A strong Dartmouth attack which then netted two goals put the Green ahead at the close of the first period. Although the second period was devoid of scoring the Dartmouth team menaced the Williams goal continually. Dartmouth's two further points were added during the third period of play.

Lane, who accounted for two of Dartmouth's points, was the individual star of the game but both goal tenders, Anthony, for Dartmouth, and Chapman, for Williams, were also noteworthy contenders. Fryberger and Manser accounted for Dartmouth's other two points.
