Three 1925 graduates and two seniors are the recipients of five fellowships which have just been awarded by the Committee on Graduate Instruction and Fellowship: A. W. Edson '25 the Charles O. Miller, Jr. Memorial Fellowship H. S. Foster '2s—the George E. Chamberlin Fellowship; W. Hartman '25—the Henry E. Parker Fellowship; P. M. Benjamin '26 —Richard C. Campbell, Jr., Fellowship and W. T. Collins '26—the James B. Richardson Fellowship.

William Hartman, Jr. '25 has been awarded the Henry Elijah Parker Fellowship to the value of $1,000, to be used for the pursuit of advanced studies. Hartman resides in Rochester, N. Y. While in College he was a member of the swimming squad for three years.

This fellowship is based on a fund bequeathed to Dartmouth College by Professor Henry Elijiah Parker, a professor of Latin and Literature in Dartmouth from 1866 to 1896, the last four years as Professor Emeritus. The recipient of the George E. Chamberlin Fellowship is Harry Schuyler Foster, Jr. '25 of Athens, Ohio. Foster prepared for Dartmouth at the Bulkely School, and Bridgeport High School, and while in College was a member of the Sigma Alpha fraternity, Kappa Phi Kappa fraternity, Phi Beta Kappa fraternity and of Delta Sigma Rho debating fraternity: He was both manager and member of the debating team, treasurer of the Round Table and a m'ember of the First Honor Group in his Sophomore and Junior years.

The fellowship valued at $1,000 is based on a fund given by bequest of Mrs. Adelis D. McAlphine of New. York city in commemoration of the life and service of George E. Chamberlin of the class of 1860, Lieutenant Colonel of the Eleventh Regiment of Vermont Volunteers in the Civil War, who was mortally wounded in battle near Charleston, Va., August 23, 1864.

The Richard Crawford Campbell, Jr. Fellowship has been awarded to Philip Mohr Benjamin '26, of Warren, Pa. Campbell received his preliminary training for College at Warren High School. This fellowship is of a value of $1,000 a year and is based on a fund by Mr. and Mrs. Richard C. Campbell, Denver, Colo., as a memorial to their son, Richard Crawford Campbell, Jr. of the class of 1921, to endow a fellowship for Graduate study in English literature.

The award of the Charles O. Miller, Jr. Memorial Fellowship has been given to Andrew Warden Edson '25, State School, Meriden, Conn. Edson attended Turners Falls High School before coming to Dartmouth. While in College, Edson was a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraterirty, the Delta Omicron Gamma fraternity, and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa fraternity. He was also a member of Green Key, Palaeopitus, the Crosscountry Squad for two years, the Ski Team for three years, a member of Cabin and Trail, the Round Table and Cercle Francaise.

The fellowship is based upon a fund of $10,000 given by Mrs. Mary Elizabeth White Miller of Stamford, Conn., in memory of her husband, Charles O. Miller of the class of 1899. The income of this fund is supplemented so that the amount of the fellowship awarded each year is $1,000.
