The Dartmouth tennis team lost its first match of the season at Annapolis, May 5, when the United States Naval Academy team defeated the Hanover men 4 to 2.

At New York, May 7, the net team won a 6 to 0 victory from Columbia, taking all singles and doubles matches and losing but two sets in the singles. Boyd (D) defeated Case (C) 2-6, 6-1, 6-4; Partridge (D) defeated D. Mackay (C) 7-5, 6-3; Morcroft (D) defeated M. Mackay (C) 6-4, 6-4; Boyd and Partridge defeated Case and M. Macakay 6-1, 8-6; and Morcroft and Moore defeated Winter and D. Mackay 6-4, 6-3.

The third victory of the season was scored at Providence where Captain Boy'd men defeated the Brown tennis team 4 to 2, May 8. In the singles matches Boyd (D) defeated Marinsky (B) 6-1, 6-3; Partridge (D) defeated Richards (B) 6-0, 6-1; O'Brien (B) defeated Morcroft (D) 6-3, 6-3; and Swan (B) defeated Moore (D) 6-3, 5-7, 6-3. Dartmouth won both doubles matches Boyd and Partridge defeating O'Brien and Remington 7-5, 6-0, and Morcroft and Moore winning from Richards and Marinsky 6-2, 6-3.

Playing against the Tufts tennis team at Hanover May 13 the Dartmouth net stars lost but one of six matches, W. Moore '26 being defeated by Nichols, of the Medford group. Both doubles matches were carried to extra sets. Boyd and Halliday, of Dartmouth, finally conquering Banks and Nichols, of Tufts, 6-2, 0-6, 13-11; and Morcroft and Moore winning from Dawson and Schiller of Tufts 6-3, 1-6, 7-5. In the singles matches Captain Boyd (D) defeated Dawson (T) 6-1, 6-4; Morcroft (D) defeated Banks (T) 6-3, 6-1; Nichols (T) defeated Moore (D) 8-6, 6-4; and Halliday (D) defeated Stevens (T)) 6-1, 6-1.

On the following day players from Williams won from Dartmouth 7 to 2, winning four of the singles matches and all doubles contests. The feature battle of the day was that between Captain Boyd, of Dartmouth, and Marsh, of Williams, which the Dartmouth man won 6-4, 6-3. In the singles, following Boyd's defeat of Marsh, Baker (W) defeated Partridge (D) 6-1, 6-1; Banks (W) defeated Morcroft (D) 6-3, 6-0; Wolf (W) defeated Moore (D) 6-0, 6-0, Halliday (D) defeated Webber (W) 6-4, 6-4; and Becker (W) defeated Nutter (D) 6-2, 7-5. In the doubles Banks and Wolf defeated Morcroft and Moore 6-3, 6-1; Marsh and Baker defeated Partridge and Boyd 6-3, 6-4; and Web- ber and Becker defeated Halliday and Nutter 6-2, 5-7, 6-1.

Dartmouth won all of the matches of the engagement against the University of Vermont players, Boyd and Partridge taking both of their singles matches in straight sets and the two doubles matches also being taken in stride. In the singles Captain Boyd defeated Guild (V) 6-3, 6-3; Partridge (D) defeated Nye (V) 6-1, 6-3; Morcroft (D) defeated Baldwin (V) 6-4, 3-6, 6-3; and Moore (D) defeated Shaw (V) 1-6, 6-3, 6-3. In the doubles Boyd and Partridge defeated Nye and Guild 6-2, 6-1; Morcroft and Moore defeated Baldwin and Shaw 6-0, 8-6.
