W. D. Parkinson was retired in August last from the principalship of the Fitchburg Normal School having reached the age limit fixed by the Massachusetts retirement law. He has been the subject of as many complimentary attentions, more or less public, as an aviator awaiting favorable weather to hop off for a transatlantic flight, but says he, too, is more concerned about the landing than about the send-offs.
