Three defending champions, B. L. Barde '27, D. W. Gardner '28, and E. S. Bessette '28 retained their titles in the eighth annual College boxing tournament held in Alumni Gymnasium March 4 for the benefit of the Mary Hitchcock

Memorial Hospital. Four new champions appeared when T. Fujiyama '30, J. Lopinto '29, C. F. Goodman '28, and W. E. Bragner '30, defeated their opponents. All of the bouts provided keen competition and plenty of excitement, the winners receiving not only the customary medals but being selected to form the team to meet Yale at New Haven in Dartmouth's first intercollegiate boxing contest.

At New Haven March 19 the Dartmouth boxers were defeated by the Yale men by a score of 5 to 1, Barde, of Dartmouth being the only member of the Green team to win a decision. The Dartmouth team was unable to present its full strength owing to the loss to it by injuries of both Bessette and Goodman.
