In their first meeting of the year the Dartmouth freshman track team gained a victory over the Andover track team at Hanover March 5 by a score of 64 to 35. Two meet records were broken and two others equalled. A. Marsters, of the freshman team, equalled both hurdle records established for this meet by E. M. Wells '28 two years ago. Kingston, of Andover, heaved the 12-pound shot a distance of 48 feet 1-2 inch which bettered the old mark, and E. Latham, of the freshmen clipped two seconds off the old record for the half mile race by covering the distance in 2 minutes 1 1-5 seconds.
The outstanding individual performer of the meet was W. McQuiston, of the freshman team, who won three first places.
Competing against the Exeter team in Hanover March 19 the Dartmouth freshmen won another victory by a score of 77 to 22. All but two first and two second places were awarded to the freshman team with McQuiston, E. Alcorn, Durgin, and Johns as outstanding performers. For Exeter Cobb and Munroe were high point winners.
