ATHLETIC COUNCIL ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE AND AWARDS

The basketball schedule for the 1927-28 season has been announced following a recent meeting of the Athletic Council and announcement made of insignia awarded. G. I. Cetrulo '28 was awarded a five-inch straight "D" and the report of the election of L. M. Sadler '28 for captain of next year's gym team was ratified. The following members of the fencing squad were awarded the "fDt" : E. T. Selig, Jr. '27, E. F. Lilley '28 and G. W. Wheland '28.

The council also ratified the pool records made by Langner of Yale in the 440-yard swim, which he made in 5 minutes 21 5-10 seconds on Feb. 11, and House of Yale in the 150-yard back stroke which he. made in 1 minute 46 3-10 seconds also on Feb. 11. The records of two Dartmouth swimmers were also ratified. H. I. Russell '27 completed the 440-yard swim in 5 minutes 49 3-10 seconds on March 5, and W. McCaw '29 swam the 150-yard back stroke in 1 minute 46 7-10 seconds.

The approved basketball schedule begins with Northeastern at Hanover on Dec. 3, C. C. N. Y. at Hanover on Dec. 7, Providence at Hanover on December 10 and Vermont at Hanover on Dec. 14.

The trip during Christmas vacation will include games with M. I. T. at Cambridge on Dec. 16, Albany T. C. at Albany on Dec. 17, Rochester at Rochester on Dec. 19, Buffalo at Buffalo on Dec. 20, Case School at Cleveland on Dec. 21, Akron at Akron on Dec. 22 and Pittsburgh at Pittsburgh on Dec. 23.

January 4 is being held open for a game in Hanover. The team will meet Yale at New Haven on Jan. 7, Columbia at New York on Jan. 9, Holy Cross at Hanover on Jan. 14, Springfield at Hanover on Jan. 18, Princeton at Hanover on Jan. 21 and Trinity at Hanover on Feb. 8.

During Carnival week, the team will play Harvard at Hanover, Feb. 11. The remainder of the schedule includes games with Pennsylvania at Philadelphia on Feb. 16, Cornell at Ithaca on Feb. 18, Columbia at Hanover on Feb. 22, Pennsylvania at Hanover on Feb. 25, Yale at Hanover on Feb. 29, Princeton at Princeton on March 3, Temple at Hanover on March 7, and Cornell at Hanover on March 10. ,
