Clean hitting and fielding and smart baserunning gave Dartmouth a decisive victory over Columbia at New York May 6. The Green team scored four'runs in the second inning of the game when Picken, Stevens, and Murphy of Dartmouth hit safely and errors were made by Trentacosti and Breslin of Columbia. The additional run was scored in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly by Van Riper after McLaughlin had tripled. Van Riper, pitched for Dartmouth, allowed the Columbia batters but six hits.
