After its unsuccessful invasion of the south the Dartmouth baseball team scored its first victory by defeating Boston College 6 to 5 in a game on Memorial Field April 23. A home run by Picken in the fifth inning was the feature of the game. In this inning Dartmouth scored two runs. Michelini reached first base on a fielder's choice, stole second, was safe at third on an error by Clinton, and scored when Shea, of Boston, uncorked a wild pitch. Picken's home run followed. Dartmouth had scored also in the fourth inning when a single by Van Riper, a base on balls to Carver, sacrifice hits by Dey and McLaughlin and errors by O'Day combined to produce three runs.
