The strong University of Pennsylvania ball team thundered through a deadlocked game to win a 5 to 2 decision in the tenth inning of a game witnessed by the annual Spring House Party crowd, on Memorial Field May 13. Previous to the ninth inning Van Riper had pitched a beautiful game for Dartmouth, holding the Red and Blue to three scattered hits, but he was unable to maintain this pace and weakened in the closing frames.

Pennsylvania scored in the opening inning when Picken, catching for Dartmouth, threw wildly into center field in an attempt to head off Tremper, of Pennsylvania, at second base. The throw permitted Thomas, who had preceded Tremper on the bases to score the first run of the game. Dartmouth tied the score and drew ahead in the fourth inning, when with the bases filled and but one man out Murphy slashed a single through the pitcher's box to score Owl and Elliott. A second run was added to the Pennsylvania column in the ninth inning. Becker smashed out a hit good for three bases and scored on a single by Thomas.

In the tenth inning singles by Tremper and Becker, of Pennsylvania, were followed by a long home run by Deutsch which brought the Red and Blue total to five runs.
