Lampe Replaces Cowles

To replace Osborne B. Cowles, who resigned this summer to become basketball coach at the University of Michigan, the Dartmouth Athletic Council has chosen Elmer Lampe, head basketball and assistant football coach at the University of Georgia. Lampe, who played football and basketball at the University of Chicago before graduating in 1926, has been at Georgia for the past eight years. In 1939-40 and 1940-41 his court teams were runnersup in the Southeastern Conference. Before going to Georgia, Lampe was end coach at Wisconsin, football and track coach at Carleton, and football, basketball and track coach at Carroll College in Wisconsin.
