Charles Sumner Ward was run down by an automobile in the streets of Flushing, N. Y., in August, and suffered a fracture of the thigh bone. He was expected to be back in his office before this time, and it may be assumed that this is now the fact. His work is the direction of money-raising campaigns, and a newspaper article says that he enjoys the unique satisfaction of having, as a result of his organizing genius and leadership, diverted more money to religious, humanitarian, philanthropic, educational, and general welfare purposes than any other man who has ever lived.
