During the past few months the ChicagoTribune has referred both in its news and editorial columns to the result of a survey made by Bill Knight, state's attorney of Winnebago County, of the conditions and practices under which the various state's attorneys proceed in connection with the Illinois habitual criminal law. The report was prepared for the Illinois Association for Criminal Justice and was very favorably received.

Among those present in Hanover at various times during the fall have been Tat Badger, Jack Clark, Mort Hull, General Knox, Gardiner Marion, Art Soule, Art Rotch, Art O'Shea, Roy Keith, and Park Stickney. Others may have been here but they did not report to your correspondent.

The sympathy of the entire class will go out to Mrs. Riley. The death of Gus occurred late in August just as he was starting his vacation.

Ev Marsh is reported to have joined the ranks of the country gentlemen for he has purchased a plot of land at Geneva, Illinois, where he expects to build his home next spring. His office address has been changed to the State Bank Building, Chicago, Illinois, where he is representative of the Equitable Insurance Company.

Joe Blakely is to be congratulated on the birth of a son, Judson Spear, born September 16, 1928.

Park Stickney's old company has amalgamated with Dwight P. Robinson and others to form the United Engineers and Contractors Incorporated, one of the largest firms of this class in the country. Stick is their western representative with his office at 122 West Washington Street, Chicago.
