These are the last notes before our gathering for our 60th. We have high expectations of seeing some of you for the first time in years; we even hope that a few will break a lifetime habit and appear for the first time at this reunion. You will all, whether "regulars" or not, be assured of a warm welcome.
You will have seen the first runs of "Profiles" before these notes appear. It will be a pleasure to you, I'm sure, to read the individual accounts of the ten years since the publication of our 50 year book. It is, however, a matter of concern that so many have so far failed to respond to the call for material.
The appearance of some of the profiles in S.B.'s '05 Reporter and our postal card appeal will, we hope, rouse those of you who have not yet sent in your contribution to a prompt response. We need to hear from all!
These profiles will make up in part for a shortage of news this month. Those who wintered in Florida are probably all back at their regular homes by now. Fred Chase was planning to leave Dunedin, April 27. His cousin, Mrs. Scales, had already departed.
A note from Gene Musgrove expresses the hope that he may join us at the reunion. It will be a happy day if his strength will permit him to be there, for he is one of those who, for good reasons, has not been able to attend before. Gene, somewhat older than most of us, has had to conserve his energy in recent years. I have not seen him myself since he moved from East Orange.
Your scribe and his wife have had an unusually busy season, what with our regular jobs and all the correspondence and planning in preparation for our big event, the 60th. Fortunately we are well and are looking forward eagerly to renewing old acquaintances. We shall, as usual, attend the Class Officers meeting in early May. There we'll see a few of you. Of course it's our June gathering that is most in our minds.
The Alumni Fund campaign now reaches the critical period. Thanks to your response and to Roger Brown's earnest efforts, our class is making a fine showing. It is no small achievement to be maintaining the second position from the top in our Green Derby division. Let's make a grand finish!
