Mr. Darrow Fulfills Promise
FEBRUARY, 1928

A pledge of help made 23 years ago to Arthur Cooley, janitor of Middle Mass, by Paul E. Darrow, Dartmouth '04, son of Clarence E. Darrow, prominent Chicago lawyer, was redeemed during the month when Mr. Darrow pleaded for a re-trial for Mrs. Cooley's nephew, John Winters of Windsor, Vt., convicted of murder in the first degree in connection with the death of Miss Cecilia Gullivan at her home in Windsor in November, 1926.

Mrs. Cooley remembered the promise of help given 20 years ago by Mr. Darrow's son, Paul, when his runaway horse killed her son, and secured Mr. Darrow's services in behalf of her nephew.
