Nomination ballots for membership in the Alumni Council went to all voting members of the Association on January 15. Nomination is by Council districts, there being five such districts throughout the country. The terms of the following members expire on July 1 next: For the New England States, Guy C. Richards '96; for the Middle and Southern States, George M. Morris '11 ; for the Central States, Warren C. Agry '11; for the Western States, Henry D. Thrall '06; for the Rocky Mountain and Pacific States, William W. Grant, Jr. '03. Of these members whose terms expire Guy C. Richards and William W. Grant only are eligible for reelection, the others having already served two terms.
The polls for nomination close on March 1 at which time the three alumni receiving the greatest number of votes in each district become the nominees. Provision is made, however, for the withdrawal of the name of any nominee should he express this desire and a further provision is that at least five nominating votes are required to qualify for nomination. Should the name of any nominee be withdrawn the constitution provides for the substitution as nominee of that alumnus who is next qualified under terms of the constitution. In the event of only one nominee remaining in any districe by reason of declination of nomination or of an insufficient number of nominating votes no election balloting will take place in that district and nomination becomes equivalent to election.
When the list of nominees is established election balloting will take place among the districts, these ballots going out probably early in April.
