FALL EXAMINATIONS ARE DISCONTINUED AT DARTMOUTH
MARCH, 1928

An announcement from the President's office says that Dartmouth College will hold no fall entrance examinations after 1928. This action of the Faculty means that the examinations to be given next September to those applicants for admission who lack necessary credits, but who would otherwise be admitted, will be done away with in the future.

Dean E. Gordon Bill, Director of Admissions and Dean of the Freshmen, in recommending the action said that fall entrance examinations should be discontinued because the selective process of admission, which has been in operation since 1922, is ensuring a general quality and preparation of those applying for admission of such high caliber that fall examinations no longer serve any purpose at Dartmouth. The great majority of Dartmouth applicants are prepared for college by the end of their secondary school year in June.
