This photostat of the original Occom manuscript was made by Professor Haskins. It is curious how well the ink has stood the test of time; in those days ink cams as a powder which one mixed in an ink-horn; often the ink-horn was worn at the belt. Since late in the 18th Century this manuscript has been the property of the college, as it was turned over to the Wheelock family after the death of Samson. . Another portion is possessed in photostat through the kindness of the New London Historical Society, while a third part is in the possession of the State Historical Society at Hartford, Conn. Dartmouth's portion is one of the College's most valuable manuscripts.
